…is an initiative taken by the Dutch touroperator SNP Natuurreizen. This travel organization was founded in 1984 by three passionate biologists from Nijmegen with the idea of taking people outdoors and showing them the beauty of nature.
For almost 40 years it has been our mission to bring people to the most beautiful places on this planet to enjoy nature. When we started SNP Nature Travel in 1984 as a group of biologists we were keen to share our knowledge with our fellow-travellers, knowing that this will bring more understanding and appreciation of Nature.

Sustainable tourism nowadays is all about minimizing the negative impact of travelling. ‘Giving Back To Nature’ however deals with positive impact on the destinations where we travel. By financially supporting local ‘grassroot’ organizations that are working on restoring or safeguarding the biodiversity we can help.
All local organizations follow an intensive application process and twice a year the special committee of GBTN review the different applications to decide where and how much financial support is granted.
The concept of the Giving Back to Nature foundation is simple: with all SNP travellers a donation of € 5,- is added to the booking invoice. This amount is doubled by SNP and transferred to the bank account of the Foundation. Next to this steady flow of income, there is the possibility for individual travellers to donate more. Also other travelcompanies can contribute to the foundation.
The reason to start a separate foundation is to be completely transparant on all the financial flows. In this way we can be sure that all the donated money will directly go to the accredited projects. Every year an accountancy report will be made and published to make sure that everything is accounted for. The board members do not receive any income from the Foundation.
SNP Natuurreizen is covering all the operational costs of the foundation.
